Instruction

Our instructors are all experienced and certified by the SFACT and FFPLUM. The chief instructor and technical director is Patrice Constantin, two seater ultralight champion of France. A hang gliding and ultralight instructor, he is also experienced in paragliding, gliding and plane flying.

Twenty years experience of ultralight flying and instruction guarantee his technical and teaching skills.

Practical and ground school theory lessons are given at the Lanas airfield.

The theory

We work outside on the airfield and in the classroom. The ultralight pilot handbook (supplementary) and the lessons will help you to prepare the written section of the ultralight pilot exam, held at the aeronautical district of your choice. (Lyon-Bron for our area).

Flying lessons

The practical course is divided into lessons. Each lesson includes approximately 20 minutes of dual control flying, as well as about fifteen minutes of briefing (preparation for the flight) and debriefing (analysis and comments).

Training Course Options

Initiation flight

Your first flight : 10 minutes of extasy int the ardéche sky, or if you like, you can make the pleasure last by taking a 30 minute flight, or more, in which case you can choose your itinerary with your instructor.

The discovery flight package

If you only have a small amount of spare time, this package can be taken over a period from one to three days, it includes 3 lessons :

Discovery of the sensation of flying and the reactions of an ultralight. You learn how to hold a course and to make turns with a gentle slope (ground briefing plus a 20mn flight lesson).	Introduction to a circuit around the airfield, you learn the basic rules of taking off, making a round circuit and landing (ground briefing plus a 20mn flight lesson).	Introduction to navigation, you pilot, you steer, you discover the marvelous phenomenon of landscapes from the air (ground briefing plus a 40mn flight lesson).

The license preparation package

This package includes 24 lessons of dual control piloting, (8 hours of flight) and ground theory lessons. The goal of this package is to obtain the ultralight license, this includes 2 sections :

a written exam organised by the aeronautical district.
a solo flight authorisation delivered by your instructor at the end of your course.

If you have not reached the required license level at the end of this package you can complete your training with advanced flying lessons.

The hangliding or aircraft pilot's package

This package is reserved for pilots who already have a federal hangliding or aircraft pilot's license.

This package includes : 12 lessons, dual control piloting (4 hours of flight), as well as ground theory lessons.

As for the license package you can complete your training, if need be, with advanced flying lessons

Advanced flying lessons

These lessons are intended for people having already followed a license preparation package, a hanggliding or aircraft pilot's package or the equivalent in another school.

They improve your flight experience before or after passing the license.

Each lesson includes 20 minutes of flight, as well as about 15 minutes of preparation and analysis on the ground.

And afterwards ? After your course or if you already have a license to fly, you always have the possibility of acquiring or hiring an ultralight at our base. You can also stock and have your material maintained on the spot.
